The Korean Foot & Ankle Society is
  • 1991
    Started as the Korean Society of Foot Surgery

    On June 12, 1991, Moon Myung-sang, Kim Ki-yong, Cho Deok-yeon, Kang Chung-nam, and Park In-heon were the promoters, and on July 26, 1991, the inaugural general meeting and academic conference of the Korean Society of Foot Surgery were held at Hallym University Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital. On June 15, 2004, the Korean society of Foot Surgery Society was renamed the Korean Foot & Ankle Society.

  • 1991 - 2000
    Conducting various academic conferences and leading academic exchanges

    From 1991 to 2002, it held an annual fall academic congress, but since 2003, it has held two academic conferences a year, and since 1997, it has started publishing academic journals twice a year. In addition, since 2000, a training lecture has been held every year to give lectures on expertise and latest knowledge in the field of foot and foot joints. As for overseas activities, in March 2001, the 4th Asia Foot Surgery Society was successfully held in Jeju Island with about 300 people from 10 countries gathered around Park In-heon, and since 2014, it has lead various education and exchanges such as fracture and diabetic foot symposiums

  • 2000 to present
    Active academic exchange activities

    Currently, 2020, 530 members have joined and are actively engaged in academic exchange activities, and since 2020, the Spring Congress has been held independently from Korean Orthopedic Association’s. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the society in 2021, it is playing a leading role in Asia through excellent paper presentations at leading academic conferences at home and abroad and active exchanges with foreign universities.
